Where the zombie trend comes from
By the end of September 2026 the "zombie love story" was a trend on TikTok and YouTube Shorts: on 30 September Gloom Labs was already asking whether it was too late to join. The usual version: a survivor faces someone they love who has turned, lowers their guard and holds them, then cuts to happy memories of the two of them. Creators posted tutorials for it from the first days of October (one on TikTok, 1 October 2026; IYIA on YouTube, 6 October).
Most versions are made in general video tools with a long prompt or a dozen shots stitched together. Ours keeps the core of the story, the turn and the hug, in one shot from two photos, and leaves out the gun.
