Where the trend comes from

HOTEL LOBBY (Unc & Phew) is a song by Quavo and Takeoff, released on 20 May 2022. Their performance of it on A COLORS SHOW, posted on 17 June 2022, puts the two of them in front of an orange wall with one microphone hanging between them. On 20 October 2026 that video had about 133 million YouTube views.

Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston on 1 November 2022. In September 2026 AI versions of the COLORS performance spread across TikTok, swapping the duo for friends, couples, pets and cartoon characters, and Quavo reposted the original on 23 September (Complex, 27 September 2026).

Coverage such as Tom's Guide (5 October 2026) also raised the questions that come with it: consent for the faces used and respect for a late artist. That is why this page asks you to use only photos you have permission for.
